Vice President, Data Center Project Planning (Remote, United States)

Lead scheduling and project planning for JLL’s mission-critical data center construction programs using Primavera P6. Analyze timelines, risks, contractors, and capital delivery for projects valued up to $1 billion or more.

Description

  • Build and manage detailed schedules for assigned capital projects in Primavera P6 or comparable software
  • Define work breakdown structures, activity codes, durations, logic links, constraints, and dependencies
  • Integrate procurement milestones, long-lead equipment deliveries, approvals, and contractor and design inputs
  • Establish baseline schedules, control versions, and revise plans to reflect progress and approved changes
  • Produce two-week, four-week, and three-month look-ahead schedules
  • Analyze critical path, total float, schedule performance, SPI, and schedule variances
  • Monitor trends, delays, risks, constraints, and the effects of scope or design changes
  • Assess what-if scenarios, recovery approaches, mitigation actions, and contingency plans
  • Monitor milestones and project completion forecasts
  • Prepare status reports, Gantt charts, milestone charts, summary schedules, narratives, and client communications
  • Report schedule status and risks to project managers and stakeholders, including updates in project meetings
  • Partner with cost managers on integrated cost and schedule reporting and earned value management
  • Coordinate schedules among project managers, design teams, contractors, commissioning agents, consultants, and trade contractors
  • Maintain consistent sequencing and logic across design, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning
  • Resolve schedule conflicts and align milestones with funding, approvals, and occupancy requirements
  • Review schedule quality, contractual compliance, logic, durations, assumptions, calendars, and constraints
  • Assist with schedule audits, change-order reviews, claims support, dispute resolution, execution plans, and schedule management plans
  • Contribute to commissioning and startup schedules
  • Provide guidance to junior schedulers or interns as needed
  • Take part in training, process improvements, scheduling technology rollouts, and lessons-learned activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, project management, or a related discipline from an accredited institution
  • Five to eight years of directly relevant experience in construction scheduling or project controls
  • Advanced experience with scheduling platforms, including Primavera P6 EPPM or P6 Professional
  • Working knowledge of critical path method scheduling principles and practices
  • Experience scheduling capital construction programs valued at $500 million to $5 billion
  • Understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and project delivery models
  • Strong analytical ability to identify schedule trends, risks, and performance concerns
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for reporting and project presentations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision while handling multiple project assignments
  • Highly organized and detail-focused, with a consistent commitment to accuracy
  • Collaborative approach to coordinating with varied project stakeholders
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Preferred qualifications include PSP or PMP certification; mission-critical, data center, healthcare, or laboratory project experience; familiarity with additional scheduling tools, earned value management, design-build, CM-at-risk, integrated project delivery, commissioning and startup schedules, LEED projects, BIM 4D scheduling, or relevant professional membership
