Transportation and Trucking Litigation Attorney - St. Louis Hybrid
Defend trucking, transportation, motor vehicle, and catastrophic accident claims for logistics clients. Handle case strategy, discovery, depositions, experts, settlements, hearings, and trial preparation.
Description
- Investigate serious and catastrophic accidents
- Assess liability, causation, damages, and overall exposure
- Shape litigation strategy with clients, insurers, and seasoned trial counsel
- Oversee matters from intake through every stage of litigation
- Prepare pleadings, dispositive motions, discovery materials, and substantive correspondence
- Conduct and defend depositions involving parties, witnesses, corporate representatives, treating physicians, and experts
- Coordinate with accident reconstruction, trucking, medical, and other specialist experts
- Prepare matters for mediation and settlement discussions
- Appear in hearings and other court proceedings
- Develop cases for trial and, based on experience, serve as first or second chair
- Maintain direct communication with clients, claims professionals, witnesses, and opposing counsel
- Partner with attorneys, paralegals, and litigation support staff
Requirements
- Four to six years of legal experience or more
- Experience defending commercial motor vehicle, trucking, transportation, and motor vehicle accident claims
- Active Missouri bar license required
- Illinois bar admission preferred
- Strong litigation, legal writing, and persuasive oral advocacy skills
- Strong academic record
- Demonstrated legal research ability
- Self-directed working style with minimal supervision
- Trial experience is preferred but not required
