Description

  • Run stakeholder discovery sessions to gather and document product requirements
  • Illustrate complex concepts with technical designs, workflows, user journeys, and business processes
  • Turn functional needs into detailed technical specifications
  • Manage and prioritise the team’s user story backlog
  • Work with engineers to clarify and refine product requirements
  • Lead agile refinement sessions with teams across disciplines
  • Improve ways of working to strengthen collaboration and efficiency between business and engineering
  • Use focused questions to identify root causes and test assumptions
  • Set out business context, acceptance criteria, and stakeholder impact
  • Resolve logic and domain questions, maintain a well-refined backlog, and keep internal documentation up to date

Requirements

  • At least five years in business analysis or a closely related technical role on agile software development teams
  • Able to ask focused questions, challenge assumptions constructively, and investigate root causes rather than simply take orders
  • Technical fluency to follow engineering discussions, understand API and system workflows, and keep up with fast-moving teams
  • Excellent skills in producing clear, concise, thorough documentation
  • Able to explain complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong product and domain judgement to resolve minor logic questions promptly and prevent developer blockers
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills for breaking down complex business problems
  • Effective planning, organisation, and time management to prioritise multiple initiatives
  • Sound understanding of Agile principles and experience applying them within software teams
  • Practical experience with APIs, web services, and web-based software projects
