Summer Business Analyst Intern at ICF (Remote)

Join ICF as a Business Analyst Intern supporting the Sightline platform. Help define requirements, document workflows, and collaborate with Agile software teams.

Description

  • Gather, clarify, and record business, data, and system requirements.
  • Create and maintain Jira user stories, tasks, acceptance criteria, and related notes.
  • Join stakeholder and technical meetings, documenting decisions, questions, action items, and follow-ups.
  • Help develop and maintain product and process documentation using Confluence, Word, Excel, or comparable tools.
  • Examine system inputs, outputs, and data flows to verify that requirements are complete and easy to understand.
  • Answer requirement-related questions and provide clarification to Technical and QA teams.
  • Monitor assigned work and report progress, risks, and open questions.
  • Build practical experience with Agile and Scrum ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Support project delivery for ICF’s Sightline platform through documentation, testing, coordination, and other assigned work.

Requirements

  • Complete at least 30 college-level credit hours by the start date, preferably in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Be a U.S. citizen.
  • Reside in the United States.
  • Be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Perform all work in the United States in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Have coursework or project exposure to business analysis, requirements gathering, process mapping, data analysis, software testing, or project management.
  • Demonstrate strong presentation and communication abilities.
  • Bring curiosity about technology.
  • Work effectively with diverse groups and help resolve technical issues.
  • Explain complex system issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Have experience with Agile software development practices.
  • Understand basic programming and machine learning concepts.
  • Be familiar with architectural concepts such as cloud computing.
  • Understand general software development life cycles and process improvement methods.
