Staff Software Engineer, IAM — Bangalore Onsite

Lead development of Walmart’s enterprise Identity and Access Management platform in Bangalore. Build scalable microservices, identity integrations, and runtime services supporting global retail operations.

Description

  • Develop and enhance Walmart’s Identity and Access Management application
  • Build, test, and deploy scalable solutions serving Walmart associates worldwide
  • Create reusable strategies, service components, libraries, and frameworks for enterprise IAM services
  • Deliver software that meets defined quality standards and metrics
  • Mentor engineers and help build technically strong, self-sufficient teams
  • Write and maintain technical documentation for internal teams and customers
  • Operate, patch, maintain, and monitor IAM systems
  • Investigate and resolve system incidents, problems, and changes
  • Support application teams integrating with IAM, SSO, Active Directory, and related modules
  • Stay current with emerging identity and security technologies

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related field plus four years of software engineering experience, or six years of related software engineering experience
  • Strong knowledge of designing, developing, and operating microservices architectures
  • Advanced understanding of IAM principles, including authentication, authorization, SSO, MFA, RBAC, ABAC, and SAML, OAuth, and OpenID Connect federation
  • Experience developing REST APIs and gRPC services and documenting APIs with Swagger or OpenAPI
  • Practical experience using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with deploying and operating microservices on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
  • Understanding of messaging platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SNS/SQS
  • Advanced proficiency with Java, J2EE, and Spring
  • Experience with observability tools and practices, including Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Jaeger
  • Experience securing service-to-service authentication, authorization, and communication
  • Experience working with NoSQL databases such as Cosmos DB, Cassandra, or MongoDB
