Staff Software Engineer, Bangalore (Onsite)

Lead full-stack software development for Walmart’s retail technology ecosystem in Bangalore. Build secure, scalable applications and AI-enabled tools while guiding architecture, delivery, CI/CD, and performance improvements.

Description

  • Lead scoped feature delivery with cross-functional engineering teams from implementation through testing and support
  • Develop clean, efficient, dependable code in multiple programming languages
  • Manage the complete software development lifecycle, including CI/CD practices
  • Integrate AI and machine learning capabilities and use generative AI tools
  • Contribute to solution architecture and review code
  • Build software that is scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with platform goals
  • Work with stakeholders to convert business needs into technical requirements and establish success measures
  • Track and assess application performance
  • Assist with defect management and resolution
  • Encourage continuous improvement and share engineering knowledge

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related field plus 4 years of software engineering experience; alternatively, 6 years of relevant software engineering experience
  • Substantial experience delivering full-stack software
  • Proficiency with React, Java, JavaScript, Python, and related frameworks
  • Strong command of Java/J2EE development, software design patterns, and solution architecture
  • Advanced knowledge of Agile software development methods
  • Advanced DevOps experience, including CI/CD pipelines and automation scripting
  • Ability to evaluate business requirements and convert them into functional and non-functional technical solutions
  • Strong debugging and application performance troubleshooting skills
  • Consistent adherence to coding standards, security policies, and quality assurance practices
  • Full-stack development experience is preferred but not required
  • A relevant master’s degree plus 2 years of experience is preferred
