Staff Electrical Engineer - Wearable Health Devices

Lead the electrical design and validation of wearable health products and accessories, from architecture and prototyping through PCB integration and production readiness. Partner across hardware, firmware, mechanical engineering, quality, and leadership to deliver reliable consumer devices.

Description

  • Develop electrical architectures, schematics, and PCB, flex, and related technology integrations for wearable and consumer products
  • Own rapid prototyping initiatives using both commercial components and custom hardware
  • Test, validate, and troubleshoot electrical systems against performance and safety requirements
  • Partner with Quality Assurance to create effective test plans
  • Integrate electrical components into product form factors with mechanical engineering partners
  • Coordinate with firmware engineers on embedded systems and hardware-software compatibility
  • Build scripts and tools that support bring-up, testing, and performance profiling
  • Help leadership shape product roadmaps, priorities, and delivery timelines

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience designing and shipping high-volume consumer electronics as a hardware systems integrator
  • Experience with ultra-low-power microprocessors, SoCs, MEMS sensors, and wireless charging
  • Background designing and validating custom analog and digital circuits and systems, including component selection and signal processing
  • Proficiency with communication interfaces such as UART, I2C, MIPI, SPI, and DSI
  • Experience scripting routine functions and automating tests in collaboration with firmware engineers
  • Familiarity with schematic-capture and PCB-layout tools such as Altium or KiCad
  • Hands-on ability to build rapid prototypes and assess electrical and signal performance using rework tools, DMMs, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and power analyzers
  • Ability to design, release, and bring up custom quick-turn PCBs
  • Detailed experience taking high-density PCBs, flexes, batteries, and sensing modules from concept through build and testing
  • Experience partnering with contract manufacturers and joint design manufacturers on precise, high-quality products
  • Ability to work independently while providing technical direction and mentorship
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and contribute to planning and documentation
  • Preferred experience with connected wearables, health and optical sensing, audio, or small-form-factor products
  • Preferred willingness to travel internationally to Europe and Asia several times annually
  • Preferred familiarity with BLE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC, 802.15.4, and 3D printing or mechanical fabrication
