Staff Accountant, Financial Reporting — Akumin Remote
Support Akumin’s financial reporting and month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, cash management, and audit preparation.
Description
- Support monthly and quarterly financial reporting and the accounting month-end close process
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, footnotes, management discussion and analysis, and investor reports
- Compile monthly financial reporting packages for internal stakeholders
- Prepare and post recurring and adjusting monthly journal entries
- Record journal entries related to debt, equity, goodwill, and intangible assets
- Review assigned general ledger accounts for accuracy, propriety, and reasonableness
- Investigate unusual transactions, reach conclusions, and recommend actions to Accounting Management
- Prepare correcting journal entries when needed
- Complete monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
- Research and resolve account discrepancies
- Support daily cash management and treasury reporting
- Assist with annual financial statement audits
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Two to three years of related experience and/or training
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, and other Excel functions
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred
