SQL Server Developer - Hybrid United Kingdom
Develop and support SQL Server solutions for a Lloyd’s managing agency’s business intelligence data warehouse, including reports, database objects, integrations, and API and cloud capabilities.
Description
- Build and maintain SQL Server objects for an internally developed data warehouse
- Create SSRS reports, maintain SQL Server objects and SSIS packages, and deliver ad hoc data extracts
- Analyse requirements with clients, business users, and the BI team, then recommend suitable technical solutions
- Investigate issues and handle day-to-day support for clients and employees
- Coordinate releases through source control, peer review, and complete testing cycles
- Support SharePoint and web developers, including providing cover during team absences
- Contribute to the development of the business’s API and cloud computing capabilities
- Assist with new-client onboarding while maintaining accuracy against tight deadlines
Requirements
- At least five years of professional development experience
- Strong T-SQL expertise and solid knowledge of the SQL Server stack, including SSRS and SSIS
- SQL Azure experience is preferred
- Experience with C#, SharePoint, web development, or APIs is advantageous
- Strong analytical and documentation abilities with close attention to detail
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
- Clear and confident communication with colleagues, clients, and external companies
- Ability to manage competing priorities and produce accurate work under pressure
- A degree in mathematics or IT is desirable; relevant SQL Server experience may be considered instead
- Insurance or financial services experience is beneficial but not essential
- Experience working in a live production environment is desirable
