Software Engineer III, DevOps and DevSecOps – Louisville, CO

Build secure CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes deployments, and infrastructure as code for Sierra Space’s space and defense systems. Support software delivery across air-gapped, cloud, and on-premises environments.

Description

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain development environments for space systems and related technologies
  • Build and operate CI/CD pipelines for reliable software delivery
  • Develop and maintain Kubernetes deployments, including the Big Bang framework
  • Support software operations across on-premises and cloud environments, with a focus on air-gapped systems
  • Create and manage secure infrastructure as code with tools such as Terraform and Ansible
  • Establish observability capabilities for proactive system monitoring
  • Embed security practices throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Partner with development teams to improve engineering processes
  • Deliver high-quality, reproducible software that satisfies stringent compliance standards
  • Coach and mentor fellow engineers

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, a master’s-level background, or equivalent professional experience in place of the degree
  • At least five years of relevant professional experience
  • Ability to design, code, test, and troubleshoot complex software development environments
  • Experience working with Agile and Scrum or Kanban methodologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Capability to mentor and support other engineers
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Advanced proficiency in at least one programming language
  • Thorough knowledge of software development principles
  • Ability to design and architect complex software systems
  • Deep expertise in container technologies, GitOps, infrastructure as code, software development workflows, and security tools
