Software Engineer II – In-Flight Entertainment

Develop and test in-flight entertainment software at RAVE Aerospace, contributing to architecture, automation, debugging, and continuous delivery.

Description

  • Support the architecture, design, development, testing, and integration of RAVE in-flight entertainment software features
  • Develop, enhance, package, test, and document software features, tools, automation, and delivery workflows
  • Create and maintain automated unit, integration, and system tests
  • Investigate, debug, and resolve software issues
  • Take ownership of software quality and promote continuous improvement
  • Prepare reliable estimates and communicate delivery commitments clearly
  • Work with stakeholders, users, and technical teams on designs, implementations, and approvals
  • Contribute to technical meetings and engineering discussions
  • Coordinate with internal teams to help deliver successful products
  • Explain technical concepts clearly to varied audiences
  • Follow and improve software development lifecycle and organizational processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
  • At least 3 years of software development experience
  • Experience developing software in C or C++ on Linux/UNIX, embedded systems, or Windows using .NET, C#, JavaScript, or SQL
  • Experience with technologies such as Qt/QML, Node.js, Go, React, TypeScript, Python, PostgreSQL, Docker, MQTT, and microservices
  • Experience with IPC, RPC, sockets, or audio/video players is advantageous
  • Knowledge of networking and protocols such as Ethernet, ARINC 429, RS-485, I2C, SPI, MDIO, or CAN is advantageous
  • Experience with npm, Bower, or Webpack is advantageous
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting abilities
