Software Engineer II - Aerospace Systems

Develop and validate embedded software for Honeywell Aerospace Technologies avionics systems. The role focuses on requirements-based implementation, defect resolution, and software integration.

Description

  • Build, test, and maintain software tools and applications for aerospace products and systems
  • Convert system and software requirements into dependable working implementations
  • Review code and help advance software development practices
  • Investigate and fix complex software defects
  • Coordinate with functional, global engineering, and project engineering teams
  • Assist engineering teams with design and documentation releases
  • Contribute to aerospace systems that improve the performance, safety, and reliability of electrical systems

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in software engineering, science, technology, mathematics, or a related technical field
  • At least three years of software development experience, ideally involving embedded systems or aerospace applications
  • U.S. Person status as required by export control regulations, including qualifying citizenship, permanent residency, protected U.S. status, or the ability to obtain export authorization
  • Proficiency in C++ and C programming
  • Working knowledge of the software development lifecycle
  • Strong analytical ability and careful attention to detail during design and testing
  • Foundational understanding of hardware-software integration and debugging
  • Familiarity with DO-178C standards
  • Hands-on experience debugging and testing embedded software
  • Experience developing and integrating avionics software
  • Experience using version control and software testing practices
  • Internship or co-op experience in aerospace or embedded software development
  • Knowledge of real-time operating systems, embedded design, and aerospace standards
  • Experience with Agile practices and CI/CD pipelines
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and learn new technologies
