Description

  • Build and advance highly available, event-driven systems that enable large-scale communication with software agents across multiple operating systems
  • Create and maintain software solutions across a broad technology stack
  • Contribute to backend services, cloud infrastructure, security, and real-time messaging
  • Ship dependable, efficient, functional, and scalable production software
  • Design, implement, test, monitor, optimize, refactor, and continually improve applications
  • Support the full software development lifecycle, from technical specifications and design through implementation and production operations
  • Use data to guide engineering decisions and assess the production effects of software changes
  • Partner with distributed engineering and cross-functional teams

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience designing, developing, testing, and monitoring applications in highly available SaaS environments
  • Strong Go or Java engineering experience, plus the flexibility and willingness to work in multiple programming languages
  • Background designing and building distributed, event-driven services and scalable backend systems
  • Experience delivering production applications on cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
  • Strong command of secure development practices, including OWASP, vulnerability assessment, threat modeling, secure code review, data protection, encryption, authentication, and authorization
  • Experience with microservice architectures and high-volume event ingestion platforms
  • Familiarity with real-time communication technologies such as WebSockets, Kafka, MQTT, or comparable messaging systems
  • Experience with non-relational databases such as DynamoDB, along with familiarity with relational databases, caching, and object storage
  • Working knowledge of networking, DevOps, and cloud infrastructure for distributed applications
  • Experience building applications that maintain persistent connectivity with client software is highly valued
  • Strong quality focus demonstrated through automated testing, performance optimization, refactoring, monitoring, and continuous improvement
  • Ability to make evidence-based engineering decisions and evaluate the production impact of software changes
  • Experience working throughout the software lifecycle, from technical design and specifications to implementation and production operations
  • Strong ownership and problem-solving ability, with confidence working independently and collaborating closely with the wider engineering team
  • Excellent English communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional, distributed teams
