Software Development Manager

Lead software teams, agile delivery, and security practices for ANDRITZ’s global industrial solutions. Help shape the evolution of Metris and explore ways to apply AI.

Description

  • Lead and support the software development team.
  • Build a collaborative culture that supports employee growth, productivity, and high-quality delivery.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, feedback, and individual development plans.
  • Manage team capacity, workload assignments, priorities, leave, working hours, time off in lieu, and resource availability.
  • Identify training needs and support ongoing professional development.
  • Improve software development processes, methods, and practices.
  • Guide teams in agile methods, especially Scrum.
  • Track delivery plans and execution to meet deadlines, requirements, and quality standards.
  • Help the team adapt to tools, technologies, processes, and working models.
  • Maintain and improve Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC) practices, including CMMI.
  • Contribute to strategic decisions about Metris’s development.
  • Coordinate work between the development team and other departments.
  • Promote innovation and evaluate AI applications for improving processes and solutions.

Requirements

  • Advanced English proficiency for professional communication.
  • Strong software development experience, preferably with C#.
  • Knowledge of additional programming languages is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and development best practices.
  • Experience with version control, particularly Git.
  • Experience with agile methods and Scrum.
  • Experience in project management, activity planning, and delivery tracking.
  • Knowledge of or experience with SSDLC processes and maturity models such as CMMI.
  • People management experience, including team development, performance management, feedback, and workload and resource planning.
  • Experience managing change and guiding teams through organizational, technological, or process transformation.
  • Experience with or involvement in AI implementation and application initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Systems Analysis and Development, or a related discipline.
  • Postgraduate study or a specialization is an advantage.
