Site Reliability Engineer – AWS GovCloud (US Remote)

Description

  • Design and operate AWS GovCloud environments with multi-account architectures, guardrails, logging, security controls, and Terraform provisioning
  • Develop and manage cloud-fleet release and update systems, including required security patches, staged rollouts, jittered deployment windows, coordinated installation, and validation
  • Create a continuous-compliance evidence pipeline supporting FedRAMP 20x Key Security Indicators
  • Gather, standardize, revalidate, and publish compliance evidence in machine-readable formats
  • Improve production observability through telemetry, SLOs, dashboards, and alerting
  • Unify CI/CD workflows for builds, signing, artifact management, quality gates, and security scanning
  • Join the GovCloud on-call rotation and eliminate recurring sources of incidents
  • Lead reliability, change-control, and continuous-compliance systems across AWS GovCloud environments
  • Report to the SRE Manager within the VP of Application Engineering organization

Requirements

  • Be based in the United States and meet standard US-person requirements for federal environments
  • Have experience building or operating within a FedRAMP Moderate or High boundary, or an equivalent IL4, IL5, or StateRAMP environment
  • Understand continuous monitoring, POA&M management, patch SLAs, and collaboration with 3PAOs
  • Have experience with AWS GovCloud, multi-account landing zones, FIPS endpoints, and cryptographic modes
  • Have operated VM fleets or appliance-based platforms at scale, beyond Kubernetes-only environments
  • Have owned telemetry and data pipelines using OTEL and Grafana-class technologies
  • Have implemented compliance-as-code and automated evidence collection with tools or standards such as OSCAL, machine-readable ConMon, AWS Config rules, or OPA at scale
  • Have built testing and verification engineering harnesses
  • Be experienced with Terraform, CI/CD, security tooling, staged deployments, and fleet patch validation
  • Be able to participate in on-call support for the GovCloud estate
