Description

  • Deliver senior engineering, production, acquisition, and technical advisory support to the Product Manager for Maneuver Ammunition Systems (PM MAS)
  • Analyze, oversee, report on, and recommend improvements for the development, production, sustainment, and delivery of small- and large-caliber ammunition
  • Help develop acquisition strategies and plans
  • Assess technical and process challenges affecting ammunition production and delivery
  • Contribute to root-cause analysis, corrective-action planning, implementation follow-up, and data coordination
  • Create technical concepts, implementation roadmaps, progress monitoring plans, test protocols, performance assessments, and solutions to complex technical issues
  • Review project proposals and recommend candidates for Army or joint funding
  • Evaluate ammunition-user concerns and develop timely responses
  • Assess industrial-base modernization and recapitalization initiatives
  • Track Army-funded projects and programs
  • Lead technical work involving energetics, critical-mineral and chemical supply chains, industrial-base resilience, and industrial-policy alignment
  • Support Defense Production Act Title III initiatives and mitigate PM MAS supply-chain vulnerabilities
  • Identify funding opportunities beyond traditional Army budget processes
  • Support public-private partnerships that expand ammunition production capacity
  • Assist with congressionally directed special-interest projects and prepare executive-level briefings
  • Coordinate with PM MAS Deputy Project Managers, the Office of the Director of Integration for Assured Munitions, the Office of Industrial Policy, and government and industry stakeholders
  • Review Foreign Military Sales Letters of Request and Letters of Offer and Acceptance
  • Apply legacy ammunition development and production expertise to resolve ammunition-related issues
  • Identify and support opportunities to reduce costs
  • Recommend actions concerning Engineering Change Proposals and Requests for Waivers or Deviations
  • Mentor engineers, acquisition-support personnel, and other technical staff

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in an accredited engineering discipline
  • At least 15 years of progressive engineering experience
  • Five years of experience managing professional staff
  • Advanced knowledge of system-level requirements definition, system test and evaluation, probability, reliability, statistical analysis, sampling, data-collection methods, and applicable regulations and standards
  • Ability to author, edit, and contribute to technical deliverables such as project concepts, technical reports, test plans, and engineering analyses
  • Ability to provide expert technical guidance and training to mission-support personnel
  • Interim SECRET clearance at minimum, with the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance
