Senior Staff Accountant, Mexico (Remote)

Manage month-end close, reconciliations, financial planning support, audits, and tax compliance for Redwood Logistics’ supply chain technology business in Mexico.

Description

  • Prepare monthly accruals, amortization, depreciation, reconciliations, debt accounting, elimination entries, and other accounting tasks.
  • Substantiate general ledger accounts, vendors, and business analyses while maintaining accurate records and procedures.
  • Support financial planning and analysis by capturing business activity and comparing financial results with budgets and forecasts.
  • Help the Financial Planning and Analysis team prepare budgets and forecasts.
  • Support annual audits and tax preparation by providing documentation and reconciliations to public accounting teams.
  • Track state and city tax filing deadlines and meet franchise, business, and other tax authority requirements.
  • Research internal and external customer questions about business unit performance.
  • Safeguard confidential information and represent Redwood Logistics’ interests.
  • Adjust to internal policy changes and handle other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • Four to five years of experience as a staff accountant and/or auditor.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting standards, reporting controls, and process improvement.
  • Experience with Great Plains Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Access.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use relevant information technology systems to improve accounting and reporting processes.
  • Fluent spoken and written English and Spanish.
