Senior Software Engineering Manager, Remote (United States)

Description

  • Lead software engineers across time zones through regular one-on-ones, feedback, growth planning, and performance discussions.
  • Hire engineers and establish the hiring bar in partnership with the Head of Engineering.
  • Build shared ownership of quality through code review coaching, meaningful tests, and production monitoring.
  • Manage delivery from problem definition through production, including planning, estimates, risks, and release readiness.
  • Work with product management to shape initiatives before development starts.
  • Direct incident response for team systems and strengthen platform safety based on lessons learned.
  • Write and ship code weekly, including features, fixes, and tooling improvements, with coding agents.
  • Review pull requests, coach contributors, and uphold quality standards for AI-generated code.
  • Keep up with AI engineering methods, testing tools, and workflows, and introduce effective practices across the organization.
  • Develop engineers into future leaders.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years building production software, including 3 or more years directly managing software engineers and overseeing hiring and performance.
  • Continue writing and shipping production code as a manager; experience with C# and .NET is required.
  • Angular, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, and AWS experience is a strong advantage.
  • Use coding agents daily in your own engineering work and have experience introducing AI engineering practices to a team.
  • Experience building or operating systems subject to HIPAA, GDPR, SOC 2, or comparable regulations.
  • Experience leading distributed teams across time zones.
  • Strong written and spoken communication across time zones, including with colleagues whose first language is not English.
  • Hold current, valid authorization to work in the country of application.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
