- Build, test, and release live-streaming encoding platforms and video processing and publishing workflows
- Develop and maintain automated QA systems integrated with continuous integration and deployment practices
- Conduct end-to-end automation testing across video acquisition, processing, delivery, and playback
- Define monitoring metrics and alerts for live-streaming events and reliability risks
- Mentor engineers and promote collaboration and technical excellence
- Expand QA workflow automation through internal services
- Review test plans across stages of the video pipeline
- Analyze test reports and record defects
- Create and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases
- Track defect resolution and coordinate with developers to prevent, report, and resolve issues
- Provide QA support before and after deployments
- Investigate live-streaming workflow issues through logs and metrics, troubleshoot problems, and recommend mitigations
- Help ensure platform reliability, scalability, and availability across developer and internal customer teams
- Test new video-streaming product features and provide actionable feedback
- Partner with platform teams to build and validate end-to-end video-streaming workflows
- Support video infrastructure QA and monitoring for major launches, including UFC and NFL
- Standardize regression practices and expand automated QA coverage
Requirements
- Experience building pytest-based automated test frameworks or comparable systems, along with knowledge of automated testing strategies
- Experience with distributed systems and QA approaches for fault-tolerant architectures
- At least 7 years of experience in live-streaming video or distributed software QA
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities
- Ability to drive issues through resolution and conduct root cause analysis
- Experience with HLS, DASH, CMAF, SRT, Zixi, RTP, and RTMP
- Experience with H.264, HEVC, VP9, AV1, and AAC codecs
- Knowledge of DRM, SCTE-104/35, closed captioning, and digital ad insertion
- Experience with AWS Media Services or comparable vendors
- Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, and XML
- Ability to collaborate with internal business units and teams with varied technical backgrounds
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience with Docker; Kubernetes experience is preferred
- Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or OCI and Terraform
- Exposure to Python REST APIs, FastAPI, and Celery
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- Familiarity with Rust is preferred
- Experience with live-streaming operations is preferred
- Availability for occasional evening and weekend QA support
