Senior Software Engineer, Developer Infrastructure at Sentry

Improve Sentry’s developer infrastructure, CI/CD systems, and development environments. Build dependable tools that support engineers and AI coding agents.

Description

  • Build and maintain tools for local and cloud development environments
  • Increase the speed and reliability of CI and deployment pipelines as codebases and infrastructure scale
  • Create supported, reusable workflows for building services and libraries
  • Improve tools and release processes for publishing SDKs and libraries
  • Develop metrics, dashboards, and flaky test detection to help teams find and fix development and deployment issues
  • Provide engineers and AI coding agents with the context to work within Sentry’s systems and conventions
  • Work with engineering teams to set improvement priorities, encourage adoption, and assess results
  • Lead projects from design through rollout and ongoing operation
  • Collaborate directly with Sentry engineers to understand their needs and measure the impact of changes

Requirements

  • Bring at least five years of software engineering experience, or equivalent experience building developer tools and infrastructure
  • Demonstrated success building or substantially improving developer tools or infrastructure used by engineering teams
  • Strong Python skills
  • Experience improving CI/CD systems, including diagnosing performance or reliability issues
  • Experience leading complex technical projects from design through implementation and rollout
  • Production experience with Docker and container orchestration
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure such as GCP or AWS
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and infrastructure as code tools
  • Experience working across engineering teams to build consensus on tools, standards, or workflow changes
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including explaining technical tradeoffs and documenting systems
  • Able to work from the San Francisco office three days per week
  • Authorized to work in the United States
