Build full-stack construction software at Aspire Software, including integrations and collaborative features. The role uses TypeScript, Node.js, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, and AWS.

Description

  • Work with a small full-stack team to build construction software.
  • Contribute throughout the development lifecycle, from choosing what to build to implementation and release.
  • Work closely with fellow developers and learn from one another.
  • Maintain high standards of code quality.
  • Explore system behavior and diagnose unexpected issues.
  • Build and maintain the flagship construction product, which uses image recognition to identify elements in construction PDFs.
  • Develop real-time collaboration features using GraphQL subscriptions over PostgreSQL, with data transformed into MobX objects on the frontend.

Requirements

  • Communicate clearly and professionally in written and spoken English with technical partners and internal teams across time zones.
  • Have substantial commercial experience building and maintaining third-party integrations using REST APIs, webhooks, and event-driven patterns.
  • Bring solid Node.js and TypeScript experience, including the ability to independently build production-ready backend services and integrations.
  • Be able to read, understand, and work in a .NET/C# codebase; specialist-level .NET expertise is not required.
  • Understand SQL and relational databases, including writing and reviewing queries, assessing data access patterns, and reasoning about integration data flows.
  • Have used Claude Code or comparable agentic AI tools as a core part of your engineering workflow, from shaping an loosely defined capability into a delivery plan to producing and verifying production-quality work.
  • Apply sound engineering judgment to AI-generated code, knowing what to trust, verify, or rewrite, especially at API boundaries and in integration-critical paths.
  • Have hands-on experience with AWS Lambda and serverless architectures, including event-driven design and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
  • Have commercial experience integrating POS systems, payment processors, or hospitality platforms.
  • Be familiar with AI agent orchestration, prompt design for code generation, and context management across multi-step agent workflows.
