Senior Site Reliability Engineer – United States Remote

Join Fleetio as a senior site reliability engineer supporting a Ruby on Rails fleet-management platform. Improve infrastructure resilience, database performance, observability, and AI-enabled operations.

Description

  • Operate and optimize Fleetio’s Ruby on Rails application stack and supporting infrastructure
  • Scale the platform through sound architecture and software design practices
  • Detect, investigate, and resolve application and infrastructure performance issues
  • Track Ruby, Rails, and database performance metrics, including SLOs and SLIs
  • Develop and maintain AI agents, skills, and automations that reduce operational toil
  • Apply AI-assisted tools to performance analysis, root-cause investigations, and code reviews
  • Work with SRE teammates to eliminate performance bottlenecks
  • Enable product engineers to adopt AI-supported reliability and performance practices
  • Direct database capacity planning and upgrade projects
  • Plan and execute database disaster recovery procedures
  • Maintain backup infrastructure and pre-production database environments
  • Document infrastructure and operational procedures, including runbooks
  • Take part in the on-call rotation

Requirements

  • At least five years of Ruby and Rails development experience
  • At least three years of AWS experience
  • Hands-on Kubernetes experience
  • Experience profiling and benchmarking source code
  • Strong code-review skills, including identifying performance risks before production
  • Experience with Datadog or another application performance monitoring platform
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
