- Maintain architecture, performance, and application-size standards across both platforms
- Improve shared client contracts covering schemas, logging, and testing frameworks
- Spot changes that may create divergence between the iOS and Android platforms
- Support engineers moving into dual-platform development through pairing and code reviews
- Take part in technical reviews and architecture discussions involving both platforms
- Deliver features from initial concept through completion across both applications
- Make architectural choices that stay aligned across Swift and Kotlin codebases
Requirements
- At least six years of professional software engineering experience
- Current, hands-on expertise developing native iOS applications with Swift and UIKit or SwiftUI
- Current, hands-on expertise developing native Android applications with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
- Demonstrated ability to independently deliver features of medium to high complexity on either platform
- Able to read, troubleshoot, and reason through code on the other mobile platform
- Experience maintaining consistency between two independent native codebases at scale
- Comfort taking full ownership of features in ambiguous situations
- Experience working with product and design to turn unclear requirements into concrete implementations
- Understanding of fully native mobile development and practical cross-platform tools
- Must reside in a US state where Airbnb, Inc. maintains a registered entity
