Senior IT Architect – Hybrid Belgium

Design and evolve secure, scalable enterprise systems with microservices, cloud platforms, and distributed technologies. Collaborate with multinational teams on international projects and attend Brussels onsite sessions up to five days per quarter.

Description

  • Develop complex, modular enterprise applications and systems.
  • Establish system and software architectures that support scalability and long-term maintainability.
  • Create and implement systems and microservices using BDD, DDD, and CQRS.
  • Use Hexagonal, Onion, layered, event-driven, and multi-tier architectural patterns.
  • Design, develop, and secure REST APIs and web services.
  • Engineer solutions built on microservices and distributed systems.
  • Enable asynchronous communication and publish/subscribe integrations with technologies including Apache Kafka and JMS.
  • Architect solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and OVH.
  • Use Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
  • Maintain security, observability, reliability, and maintainability across solution designs.
  • Partner with front-end, back-end, cloud, and infrastructure engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Senior-level background in IT, solution, or software architecture.
  • Strong expertise in system design and architecture.
  • Practical experience with Behaviour Driven Development and Domain Driven Design.
  • Experience architecting microservices and distributed systems.
  • Proficiency with REST APIs and web services.
  • Experience using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or OVH.
  • English proficiency at least at B2 level, with C1 preferred.
  • Legal authorization to work within the European Union.
  • Willingness to travel to Brussels for business, up to five days per quarter.
  • Either a master's degree at EQF Level 7 with at least 15 years of professional IT experience, or a bachelor's degree at EQF Level 6 with at least 17 years of professional IT experience.
