Senior Internal Auditor, Finance and Regulatory Reporting

Conduct risk-based audits of banking controls and financial reporting at Truist. Lead audit testing, document findings, and recommend improvements to internal controls.

Description

  • Support and document risk-based assurance work, including complex audits.
  • Assess audit results, identify control weaknesses, and recommend practical improvements.
  • Lead portions of smaller audits or special reviews as needed.
  • Lead client interviews and record findings in narratives, flowcharts, and process maps.
  • Review process documentation to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of control design.
  • Develop and carry out audit testing plans using data analytics.
  • Identify control weaknesses, risks, and their root causes.
  • Support junior colleagues in meeting team goals and objectives.
  • Present audit findings to management and the Engagement Manager.
  • Build skills in auditing, risk assessment, and project management.
  • Expand knowledge of Truist’s organization, operations, policies, procedures, and applicable banking laws and regulations.
  • Prepare work papers that meet Truist Audit Services procedures and documentation standards.
  • Work independently with limited supervision and meet deadlines.
  • Apply constructive feedback to future assignments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field, or equivalent education, training, or experience.
  • Four to six years of banking, auditing, or other relevant experience in the area of responsibility.
  • Sound decision-making skills.
  • Strong understanding of audit principles, practices, and methods, including risk assessment and audit documentation.
  • Ability to learn analytical, auditing, and/or facilitation skills.
  • Ability to understand concepts underlying complex information.
  • Ability to identify the root causes of problems.
  • Ability to develop solutions by synthesizing information.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities of varying complexity.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Fluency in English.
