Senior Interface Engineer – Eurofins, New Hampshire Remote

Senior Interface Engineer connecting clinical laboratories with HIS, EHR, and LIMS platforms at Eurofins. Build and maintain secure HL7 integrations that support laboratory operations and patient care.

Description

  • Design, develop, implement, and support interfaces that exchange patient and laboratory data between HIS/EHR platforms and LIMS
  • Manage 3–4 interface projects concurrently and 10–15 projects annually
  • Deliver interface projects within 90 days or as quickly as client and laboratory resources permit
  • Handle an appropriate share of support tickets in the Corepoint environment
  • Partner with clinical laboratory staff, hospital IT teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to establish requirements and technical specifications
  • Implement HL7, JSON, and XML protocols and formats to enable system interoperability
  • Investigate and resolve interface problems to maintain timely, accurate data exchange
  • Develop clean, efficient, and well-documented interface integration code
  • Perform testing and quality assurance to verify data consistency, accuracy, and integrity
  • Monitor systems and improve their performance
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and healthcare data security standards
  • Contribute to system upgrades, migrations, and continuing development initiatives
  • Report project progress and issues to management and stakeholders through meetings, email, and essential documentation
  • Engage with clients, industry peers, software support teams, and ELE staff

Requirements

  • At least 3–5 years of hands-on experience designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining Corepoint Interface Engine interfaces, preferably in healthcare or clinical laboratories
  • Ability to troubleshoot, debug, optimize, and support Corepoint interfaces
  • Familiarity with engine upgrades, version management, and performance tuning
  • Strong command of HL7 messaging, including ADT, ORM, ORU, DFT, segmentation, data types, and message flows
  • Experience working with JSON, XML, and CDA
  • Experience with TCP/IP, VPN, SFTP/FTPS, HTTP/S web services, REST/SOAP, and certificate-based authentication
  • Experience building APIs and integrating external systems using secure transport and authentication
  • Strong background in mapping and transforming data between laboratory LIS/LIMS, EHR, HIS, and other target systems
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle practices and version control
  • Ability to convert functional and clinical requirements into interface specifications and technical designs
  • Effective spoken and written English communication skills
  • Ten years of healthcare IT interface development experience, with a strong focus on HL7, interface engines, and requirements
  • Extensive experience developing and maintaining Corepoint Integration Engine interfaces
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience designing system integrations, data-flow architectures, and scalable solutions
  • Strong testing capabilities, including test planning, interface validation, error analysis, and regression testing
  • Experience diagnosing production incidents, identifying root causes, and delivering fixes under SLA requirements
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call support rotation
  • Knowledge of clinical workflows, laboratory system requirements, and US clinical lab order and result processing
  • Exposure to EHR platforms such as Epic, Cerner, and Meditech
  • Understanding of HIPAA and healthcare data integration compliance, privacy, security requirements, and standards
  • Ability to work effectively with clinical stakeholders, project managers, WQA teams, vendors, and cross-functional IT groups
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
