Description

  • Lead cloud-native Python services on AWS from refinement through production
  • Design and deliver Python services and application components
  • Build automated workflows with AWS Lambda, Amazon SQS, Amazon S3, and Amazon RDS
  • Design APIs, integrations, and data flows that connect services across the platform
  • Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines and automated production testing
  • Guide code reviews and make informed architectural tradeoffs
  • Diagnose and resolve complex production issues
  • Mentor software developers
  • Apply AI-assisted development tools for implementation and review while remaining accountable for the delivered code
  • Drive quality practices through test-driven development, code reviews, and application security standards
  • Prepare project estimates and support planning, delivery forecasting, and resource allocation
  • Deliver integrated, accurate, and auditable solutions for government clients

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of professional, hands-on back-end development experience with Python
  • At least 5 years of hands-on front-end development experience with React.js
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Substantial experience building cloud-native AWS applications with Lambda, S3, SQS, and RDS
  • Strong experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle
  • Strong experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or DynamoDB
  • Advanced knowledge of distributed systems, software architecture, design patterns, object-oriented programming, database design, and data modeling
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience leading Agile delivery in Scrum or Kanban using an issue tracker such as Jira
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted developer tools such as Amazon Q Developer or GitHub Copilot
  • Proven ability to lead development teams and mentor developers
  • Excellent communication skills for working with executive leaders, business stakeholders, and technical teams
  • Proficiency with written communication, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • AWS or Python certification preferred
  • Federal information technology experience preferred
  • Experience leading technical delivery teams in a client-facing consulting environment preferred
  • Experience implementing DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines preferred
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust determination
