Senior Frontend Software Engineer – RELX, Mumbai Onsite
Build responsive enterprise interfaces with React and Next.js while supporting PHP and Backbone.js applications. Improve frontend performance, scalability, and code quality across RELX products.
Description
- Build, test, and deploy responsive, scalable interfaces with Next.js and React
- Work with product managers and backend engineers to turn designs and user stories into web applications
- Produce clean, maintainable, well-documented code aligned with engineering standards
- Improve performance, responsiveness, and scalability across browsers and devices
- Review code and offer practical, constructive feedback
- Support and extend applications developed with PHP, Zend Framework or Laminas, and Backbone.js
- Investigate complex frontend defects and deliver effective fixes
- Keep current with frontend technologies, industry practices, and emerging trends
- Contribute to agile routines such as stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
- Recommend enhancements to development workflows and engineering tools
Requirements
- At least 10 years of professional frontend development experience
- Advanced JavaScript, Tailwind CSS, HTML5, and CSS3 skills
- Extensive hands-on experience with React.js and Next.js
- Knowledge of component-based architecture, state management such as Redux or React Context API, and frontend routing
- Experience using Webpack, Babel, or Vite
- Proficiency with Git
- Experience working with RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming
- Ability to create thorough unit and integration tests for frontend components
- Strong analytical, debugging, and attention-to-detail skills
- Clear communication and effective cross-functional collaboration
- Experience with Next.js server-side rendering and static site generation is preferred
- Familiarity with PHP and Zend Framework or Laminas is preferred
- Exposure to Backbone.js is preferred
- Knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards is preferred
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines is preferred
- Familiarity with Docker is preferred
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP is preferred
