Description

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning across retail, e-commerce, wholesale, and corporate operations.
  • Build and maintain financial models with documented assumptions.
  • Compare sales, gross margin, operating expenses, and profitability with budgets, forecasts, and prior periods.
  • Identify the underlying causes of financial variances.
  • Review general ledger accounts and transaction details to validate monthly results.
  • Investigate unexpected financial variances.
  • Work with Accounting during month-end close to evaluate accruals and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assess how pricing, product volume, category mix, and product costs affect sales and gross margin.
  • Present financial results, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, and brand leaders for Aéropostale, Lucky Brand, and Nautica.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related quantitative field.
  • At least two years of relevant FP&A, corporate finance, or combined accounting and financial analysis experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, lookups, INDEX/MATCH, pivot tables, and driver-based modeling.
  • Ability to review and verify your own work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships across functions.
  • Knowledge of retail or wholesale business models and their financial drivers is preferred.
  • Finance or accounting experience in apparel, footwear, retail, or consumer packaged goods is preferred.
  • Experience with enterprise systems and reporting tools such as Oracle, OneStream, or MicroStrategy is preferred.
