Senior Data Developer - Calgary (Hybrid)

Build AWS data pipelines, integrations, reporting solutions, and data products for FCC, a Canadian agriculture and food financing Crown corporation. Provide technical leadership and mentor team members.

Description

  • Design and support data solutions across source, raw vault, business vault, and reporting layers using Medallion Architecture.
  • Convert business, data, and reporting needs into dependable, scalable, maintainable technical solutions.
  • Build and maintain reporting, analytics, and visualization capabilities with tools such as AWS QuickSight.
  • Work with analysts, product teams, and stakeholders to define data needs and deliver trusted information for reporting and decisions.
  • Diagnose, optimize, and improve existing data solutions for performance, quality, security, and reliability.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement.
  • Offer technical direction and mentorship to team members.
  • Create and maintain data pipelines, integrations, and data products across FCC’s AWS data ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field.
  • At least three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Several years of experience designing, developing, and supporting data solutions in cloud-based environments.
  • Experience integrating third-party solutions into AWS pipelines.
  • Experience with AWS services or comparable cloud data platforms.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring developers and providing technical leadership for complex initiatives.
  • Experience working with marketing platforms such as HubSpot or Contentful.
  • Experience working with Agile teams.
  • Experience with data quality, pipelines, APIs, automation, or cloud-native development practices.
  • Knowledge of software engineering practices including version control, CI/CD, peer review, and technical documentation.
  • English-language proficiency required.
