Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - Toronto (Hybrid)
Build and operate Azure infrastructure and delivery pipelines for Signal 1’s healthcare AI platform. Improve security, scalability, reliability, and automation for health system customers.
Description
- Design, operate, and improve Signal 1’s Azure infrastructure with infrastructure as code
- Create deployment pipelines that move code from commit through production across multiple environments
- Contribute to end-to-end architecture spanning applications, platforms, and infrastructure
- Investigate production issues in partnership with software engineers
- Develop full-stack internal tools that streamline the Infrastructure Team’s daily operations
- Maintain platform security, compliance, and reliability through monitoring, backups, and recovery practices
- Lead components and projects from concept to production while introducing improvements that increase team efficiency
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or comparable practical experience
- At least five years of experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering
- Hands-on production experience with at least one major cloud provider: Azure, AWS, or GCP
- Production experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions
- Strong knowledge of designing and implementing secure cloud networks
- Proficiency in Python and Bash, with the ability to read and understand application code
- End-to-end understanding of how the components of modern software systems work together
- Strong communication skills and the ability to quickly understand context, contribute practical ideas, and explain complex topics clearly
- Preferred: experience with Azure, Terragrunt, Istio, and Datadog
- Preferred: experience designing multi-tenant SaaS platforms with isolated customer data
- Preferred: experience developing full-stack internal tools for deployment or operations
- Preferred: familiarity with HIPAA and SOC 2, including experience handling protected health information (PHI), customer-managed or private network deployments, and fast-moving startup teams.
- Preferred: experience deploying software into customer-managed or private network environments
- Preferred: experience working on small startup teams that build and release quickly
