Senior Category Manager, Battery Storage – Global Supply Chain

Lead global sourcing, contracting, and supplier performance for battery-storage equipment. Help secure cost-effective, reliable supply for utility-scale clean-energy projects.

Description

  • Create and deliver category strategies that balance competitive costs with dependable supply
  • Manage RFP processes, assess supplier proposals, and maintain alignment with project requirements and schedules
  • Negotiate terms and conditions for individual projects
  • Develop and execute contracts for project-specific equipment and services
  • Assist Commercial Operations with Project Risk Assessment Matrices
  • Assess geopolitical, economic, and environmental supply-chain exposure and develop mitigation plans
  • Monitor market developments, raw-material pricing, and technology roadmaps
  • Pursue savings through should-cost models, total-cost-of-ownership reviews, pricing analysis, market intelligence, and international supplier relationships
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews with strategic suppliers
  • Measure and communicate supplier quality and operational performance
  • Establish and track category KPIs covering on-time delivery, quality, lead time, savings, and risk
  • Coordinate with Commercial Operations, Engineering, and Legal to connect supply and service agreements with customer contracts
  • Handle additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, or a related discipline
  • At least five years of category-management and supplier-management experience
  • At least three years of experience in the renewable-energy industry
  • Experience with battery energy storage systems is preferred
  • Background managing projects that advance strategic procurement objectives
  • Demonstrated success creating category strategies and improving cost, quality, and supply-chain risk outcomes
  • Working knowledge of low- and medium-voltage power-distribution equipment, including switchgear, inverters, transformers, and motor drives
  • Strong negotiation, contract-management, and communication capabilities
  • Experience collaborating closely with Engineering and Product teams
  • Understanding of product-development lifecycles and technical specifications
  • Proficiency with ERP platforms such as SAP or Oracle
  • Proficiency with e-procurement platforms such as Coupa or Ariba
  • Ability to stand and walk regularly, lift or move up to 25 pounds frequently, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Availability and ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
