Senior Backend Engineer, Go — Vilnius Hybrid

Build Go services for Saily, a travel connectivity provider serving millions of mobile-data customers. Lead personalized and experimental product features from concept through delivery and iteration.

Description

  • Own product features from initial concept with Product and Design through launch, measurement, and iteration
  • Create capabilities for multidimensional personalization, A/B testing, and analytics
  • Apply product considerations to technical decisions
  • Build and maintain a reliable, high-performance Go codebase
  • Coach colleagues and strengthen engineering practices
  • Help shape the team’s vision and long-term objectives
  • Lead research and development spikes when the direction is uncertain
  • Work closely with engineering, product, and design in a cross-functional team

Requirements

  • At least five years of backend development experience with strong Python, PHP, Ruby, or comparable skills, plus readiness to use Go daily
  • Background in a product company, preferably a startup or scale-up
  • B2C product experience is strongly preferred
  • Strong system design capabilities
  • Experience with SQL databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL
  • Experience with NoSQL technologies including Redis and Cassandra
  • Experience with Kafka or a comparable event-driven platform
  • Enthusiasm for designing APIs that are intuitive and easy to understand
  • Kubernetes and microservices experience is advantageous
  • Evidence of shipping experiments, testing hypotheses, and measuring outcomes is advantageous
  • Familiarity with AI-native tools such as Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor is advantageous
