Senior AWS Solutions Architect, Associate Director

Lead enterprise AWS architecture and delivery for Protiviti’s global consulting practice. Advise executives, mentor engineers, and shape strategic cloud engagements.

Description

  • Provide senior technical leadership for strategic, complex AWS client engagements
  • Set architecture direction and engineering standards for AWS Platform Engineering
  • Advise client technology and security executives and engineering leaders on cloud strategy and AWS decisions
  • Guide Solutions Architects and Senior Cloud Engineers through challenging architecture and delivery work
  • Review and shape designs spanning AWS infrastructure, networking, security, resilience, migration, modernization, automation, and operating models
  • Step in to lead technically high-risk or especially complex delivery situations
  • Keep engagements aligned with client outcomes, engineering standards, security needs, and sustainable operating models
  • Create reusable reference architectures, engineering frameworks, accelerators, and intellectual property
  • Strengthen technical skills through mentoring, coaching, design reviews, and knowledge sharing
  • Work with AWS alliance and pre-sales leaders to develop strategic opportunities
  • Turn client needs and delivery insights into service offerings and solution patterns
  • Support technical solution design, estimation, executive presentations, proposals, and statements of work
  • Build trusted relationships with senior clients that lead to advisory and engineering opportunities
  • Own an assigned sales quota and help develop and convert the sales pipeline
  • Identify opportunities in response to client needs
  • Represent AWS Platform Engineering with AWS technical teams, strategic clients, and industry stakeholders
  • Lead complex engagements, deepen client relationships, manage technology risk, and oversee quality delivery
  • Create practical solutions with analytics, automation, and modern tools
  • Mentor teams and oversee successful project delivery

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as MIS, information systems, or computer science
  • At least 9 years of experience in professional services or industry
  • Required: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
  • Preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional and AWS Certified Security – Specialty
  • Extensive expertise designing, implementing, and governing enterprise AWS environments
  • Ability to influence architecture and technology strategy in large or complex organizations
  • Experience leading multiple complex cloud engagements or portfolios of technical work
  • Strong architecture skills across infrastructure, networking, security, automation, resilience, governance, operations, and migration
  • Able to advise senior executives while maintaining credibility with highly technical engineering teams
  • Substantial experience shaping and estimating complex cloud transformation engagements
  • Able to identify client needs and turn them into valuable consulting and engineering work
  • Experience developing technical leaders and raising engineering standards across an organization
  • Strong grasp of consulting economics, delivery risk, scope management, and commercial decisions
  • Consulting, professional services, or systems integration experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with Amazon Bedrock, including agents, knowledge bases, and guardrails
  • Experience with AWS Step Functions or similar orchestration services
  • Knowledge of API design and integration patterns, including REST and event-driven architectures
  • Knowledge of data architecture, including ingestion for agent knowledge bases and indexing procurement or logistics data
  • Experience with infrastructure as code using CDK or CloudFormation
  • Knowledge of IAM, networking, and VPC design in AWS environments
  • Familiarity with ERP integration patterns, including JDE and Oracle FBDI export format
  • Able to translate business processes such as procurement workflows into technical architecture
  • Experience leading agentic AI or generative AI builds beyond chatbots
  • Successful completion of a background check
  • Able to work in a hybrid model and travel to local or out-of-state client sites as needed
  • Protiviti is not registered to hire or employ personnel in West Virginia or Alaska
