Senior Automated Information Systems Analyst, Naval Forces Logistics – Norfolk Onsite

Provide senior functional and technical support for Navy and Marine Corps logistics information systems. Lead operations, testing, administration, data integrity, and modernization activities that support fleet readiness.

Description

  • Provide senior functional and technical support for Navy and Marine Corps logistics AISs and applications
  • Manage AIS tasking, operations, hardware and software baselines, databases, and related projects
  • Mentor junior AIS analysts
  • Perform functional system analysis, operational research, audits, and follow-up reporting
  • Test and evaluate logistics AISs, programs, applications, and software releases
  • Prepare trouble reports and change proposals while recommending procedural and business-process improvements
  • Assess training needs and support installations, formal training events, database cleanup, and post-implementation validation
  • Perform or coordinate system administration and production support, including backups, maintenance, job processing, monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Review application, interface, validation, financial, material, historical, and data-exchange files for database accuracy and reconciliation
  • Administer AIS and web-based logistics programs, including access requests, updates, password resets, and role assignments
  • Monitor and resolve Tier 2 trouble reports, escalating issues to Tier 3 when appropriate
  • Coordinate updates, maintenance, troubleshooting, and functional testing with system sponsors and NAVWAR
  • Contribute to requirements generation, business-process reengineering, DLMS impact reviews, data migration, fielding, installation, testing, acceptance, and integration activities
  • Support logistics IT data science and research, including data acquisition, processing, cleaning, exploratory analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET clearance
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Willingness to travel within and outside the continental United States, including ship embarkation or deployed-unit support
  • Experience with Unix and Linux operating systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, information technology, information science, business, computer science, mathematics, or a related quantitative science field, or 8 additional years of experience in place of the degree
  • At least 8 years of experience in computer analysis, Navy AIS functional analysis, networks, and programming
  • At least 2 years of experience as a senior analyst working under a formal quality management system
  • Demonstrated experience with Navy logistics AISs and related IT environments
  • Experience providing functional analysis, system administration support, and troubleshooting in an operational Fleet environment
  • Ability to work onsite at government facilities within 50 miles of the listed locations during local core hours
  • Willingness to work 12-hour shifts during installation and assessment evolutions when required
