Senior Accounting Team Lead – US GAAP (Brazil Remote)
Lead US GAAP loan accounting and financial reporting for World Business Lenders from Brazil. Supervise two analysts while managing accruals, reconciliations, and loan-related transactions.
Description
- Manage accrual accounting for core operations, including loan-related income and expenses, under US GAAP
- Support monthly and annual financial reporting activities
- Supervise two Accounting Analysts and maintain accurate, timely work for the 10-business-day close
- Assess and document the appropriate accounting treatment for new transactions and events
- Prepare FAS 91 workpapers for deferred income and expense recognition
- Reconcile loan collections to bank activity and record the corresponding journal entries
- Calculate gains and losses from asset resolutions
- Record interest income and interest expense
- Manage accounting for prepaid expenses
- Process loan suspense adjustments and related loan income and expenses
- Prepare reconciliations for balance-sheet accounts
- Record loan activity, including collections, debt repayments, and interest payments
- Conduct weekly reviews of analysts’ work
- Prepare weekly asset-resolution gain/loss calculations and record the associated activity
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Accounting
- Intermediate Chartered Accountancy (Inter-CA) qualification
- Five to ten years of accounting experience
- Strong working knowledge and practical application of US GAAP
- Experience with financial reporting and core accounting processes
- Previous experience leading or supervising accounting staff
- Availability Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern Time
- Stable internet access and a professional remote-work setup

- Banking, real estate, or U.S.-based service-business experience is preferred
- Technical proficiency in US GAAP, Sage 300, LAPRO, advanced Excel, Power BI, financial reporting, and accounting ERP systems
