Senior Accountant – Australian Compliance

Manage accounting, payroll, reconciliations, and Australian compliance for a hospitality technology company. Support its digital ordering and point-of-sale operations, reporting directly to the CEO.

Description

  • Manage daily Xero accounting, including payables, receivables, credit cards, petty cash, and customer receipts.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts each day.
  • Complete month-end reconciliations for creditors, the general ledger, Stripe, and CRM systems.
  • Process payroll every two weeks, along with employee reimbursements and entitlement records.
  • Coordinate Australian compliance and lodgements, including PAYG, BAS, payroll tax, superannuation, and WorkCover, in collaboration with the CEO.
  • Maintain the asset register and keep cash flow reports up to date.
  • Assist with statutory accounts, annual budgets, and forecasts.
  • Improve finance processes and support the rollout of new reporting software.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests from managers and directors while aligning priorities with the CEO.
  • Report directly to the CEO.

Requirements

  • Australian accounting experience is essential.
  • Working knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, GST, FBT, income tax, and payroll tax.
  • Strong reconciliation skills and close attention to accuracy.
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
  • Experience managing creditors and payment processing.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage requests from multiple people.
  • Integrity and discretion when handling sensitive payroll and financial information.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Hands-on Xero experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience in a SaaS or technology environment is a plus.
  • Exposure to Stripe or CRM reconciliations is a plus.
  • Based in the Philippines.
