Senior 3D Designer (Contract) - New York Hybrid

Senior 3D Designer developing spatial brand experiences and event environments for leading brands. Create 3D concepts, technical drawings, renders, and fabrication-ready designs.

Description

  • Design innovative environments for permanent facilities and live events
  • Develop 3D concepts, layouts, and designs based on creative briefs and brand narratives
  • Prepare design-intent drawings and supporting technical documentation
  • Produce detailed Vectorworks drawing packages with plans, elevations, and construction details
  • Create high-quality renders, preferably with Cinema 4D
  • Incorporate graphic elements into 3D environments with 2D designers and motion specialists
  • Lead client and internal discussions and presentations
  • Partner with UX designers, 2D designers, and strategists on integrated creative solutions
  • Delegate work to other 3D team members when needed
  • Coordinate with fabricators, engineers, and production specialists to confirm technical feasibility and production compliance
  • Develop internal and client presentations alongside compelling visual design assets
  • Maintain quality across multiple projects while meeting deadlines and delivery standards
  • Support projects through onsite completion when required

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience in 3D design, interior architecture, exhibition, or environmental design
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in interior, architectural, or environmental design
  • A strong portfolio featuring spatial storytelling, brand experiences, and high-quality visualizations
  • A refined design sensibility with strong knowledge of materials, fabrication methods, and production processes
  • Ability to visualize and communicate ideas rapidly
  • Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary teams with designers, technologists, and production specialists
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and effective time management
  • Confidence presenting design concepts and explaining them clearly
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality work under pressure
  • An enthusiastic, open-minded approach with an interest in innovation and emerging technologies
  • Advanced 3D modeling and rendering skills using Cinema 4D or comparable software
  • Experience creating technical drawings in Vectorworks
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop for post-production
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States
