Robotics Systems Engineer - Japan (Hybrid)

Lead robotics automation projects for Japanese logistics customers, from system architecture and deployment through debugging and optimization. Partner with Dexterity’s US engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

Description

  • Oversee current and planned robotics initiatives across Japan
  • Coordinate product development and large-scale deployments
  • Partner with headquarters engineering teams to create products and systems for Japanese customers
  • Design, implement, and monitor solutions that strengthen operational efficiency, reliability, and scalability
  • Lead the development and ongoing improvement of systems architecture
  • Present Dexterity’s system architecture and operation to customers and partners
  • Assist with system commissioning through the Linux command line
  • Validate requested and newly developed customer features, prioritizing them according to business impact
  • Conduct root cause analysis and debugging to support reliable operation of deployed systems
  • Evaluate control, vision, and data software performance on robotic platforms and develop optimizations
  • Contribute to product definition and resolve architectural and technical issues during early project phases
  • Assess technical risks and define mitigation approaches with key stakeholders
  • Work with customers, system integrators, and Dexterity engineering teams in the United States
  • Report to the Head of Japan

Requirements

  • Engineering leadership experience managing active and upcoming projects in Japan
  • Experience collaborating with customers, system integrators, and internal core engineering teams
  • Ability to design, build, and monitor solutions across the technology stack
  • Working knowledge of systems architecture, subsystem components, and their dependencies
  • Proficiency with the Linux command line
  • Capability to conduct root cause analysis and debug complex issues
  • Experience with control, vision, and data software running on robotic systems
  • Ability to improve system performance across speed, quality, and autonomy
  • Experience identifying technical risks and defining mitigation strategies
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Japanese customers and headquarters engineering teams
