Remote iOS Developer in Canada

Lead compliance capabilities for Takeaway.com’s courier logistics platform in a remote Canada-based iOS role. Build and maintain applications that support delivery operations, including a new logistics app and a legacy platform.

Description

  • Own the iOS compliance module that supports delivery compliance
  • Help couriers throughout the delivery journey, from pickup through proof of delivery
  • Develop a new logistics application from the ground up
  • Maintain and improve the existing legacy platform
  • Release high-quality features at speed
  • Report to the Technology Manager
  • Work with a customer-focused, full-stack team distributed across Canada
  • Exchange knowledge with engineers at every experience level
  • Take part in TDD, pair programming, and code reviews

Requirements

  • Professional experience as a mid-level iOS engineer
  • Keep current with modern iOS and Swift developments
  • Write Swift code that is expressive, readable, composable, and easy to test
  • Understand iOS application and view lifecycles
  • Have a foundational understanding of iOS provisioning profiles and certificates
  • Understand the basics of functional and reactive programming
  • Apply clean architecture and coding practices consistently
  • Bring experience with mobile automation testing
  • Work confidently with UIKit and SwiftUI
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving ability
  • Communicate effectively in spoken English
  • Be motivated to share knowledge with engineers at all levels
  • Commit to continuously raising quality standards
  • Know the MVVM architectural pattern
  • Have released and maintained production iOS or Cocoa applications
  • Be familiar with Fastlane and/or CI/CD workflow maintenance
  • Understand debugging, performance measurement, and test-driven development
  • Understand REST principles and have exposure to backend systems
  • Use Git, GitHub, and Bitbucket in development workflows
  • Value engineering practices including TDD, pair programming, and code reviews
  • Complete a background check, with any offer subject to satisfactory results
