Remote Accounting Specialist

Manage accounting operations, reporting, audits, and automation for L3Harris Technologies. The role supports GAAP compliance, lease accounting, internal controls, and process improvements.

Description

  • Prepare journal entries and reconciliations across cash, fixed assets, intercompany accounts, payables, payroll, time and labor, and leases
  • Analyze financial data to spot trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement
  • Develop reporting materials such as rollforwards, schedules, and variance analyses
  • Review agreements, reports, and data to determine the appropriate accounting treatment
  • Coordinate across teams to support operational processes, practices, and procedures
  • Automate workflows to improve processes and performance
  • Coach and train colleagues
  • Explain accounting policies, procedures, and practices
  • Respond to internal and external audit requests

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience
  • Graduate degree and at least 2 years of related experience
  • At least 8 years of related experience may substitute for a degree
  • Strong knowledge of the full accounting cycle
  • Experience leading special projects
  • Experience with automation
  • Proficiency in SAP, PeopleSoft, Costpoint, HFM, ARCS, and CoStar
  • Strong grounding in accounting principles and GAAP
  • Knowledge of internal controls and related regulations, including Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Strong understanding of ASC 842 lease accounting and ASC 360 property, plant, and equipment standards
  • Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • CPA, CFA, CPP, or CMA designation preferred
  • Experience with fixed assets and lease accounting
  • Experience working with external auditors and audit requirements for internal controls and government compliance, including SOX and DCAA
