Part-Time Licensed Counselor, Seattle

Provide individual and group therapy, community referrals, and clinical support in a part-time counseling role with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The position is based in Seattle and includes a hybrid work arrangement.

Description

  • Deliver clinical counseling through in-office sessions and teletherapy.
  • Consult with ecclesiastical leaders, including bishops, stake presidents, mission presidents, and general authorities.
  • Lead group therapy and programs such as Addiction Recovery.
  • Build community resources and connect clients with referrals.
  • Support and supervise staff, including colleagues working toward clinical licensure.
  • Attend agency council meetings, regional training, headquarters committees, and other assigned initiatives.
  • Work with office staff, ecclesiastical leaders, and community partners to develop and carry out comprehensive service plans.
  • Keep timely notes and records of consultations and terminations, following data security, privacy practices, and organizational priorities.
  • Pursue professional development in current approaches aligned with organizational values.
  • Report to an Agency or Region Manager in North America.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, counseling psychology, or a related field leading to clinical licensure.
  • At least five years of professional experience after completing a master’s degree, including three years after independent licensure.
  • One year of post-independent-licensure experience may be substituted by NOJOS and DOC Credentialing for Sensitive Cases Team.
  • Current independent clinical license, such as LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or a similar credential.
  • State licensure in multiple states may be required depending on the service area.
  • Advanced clinical skills and openness to feedback.
  • Ability to provide clinical supervision to team members pursuing clinical licensure.
  • Professional conduct and attention to quality, timely notes, consultations, and terminations.
  • Strong group therapy skills.
  • Well-developed consultation skills.
  • Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
