OCI Cloud Security Engineer - Remote United States

Secure Oracle Cloud Infrastructure environments for a federal health customer through OCI-native controls, SIEM integrations, and automated cloud security. The role supports cloud operations, migration, and workload hardening.

Description

  • Assess and strengthen OCI security posture across IAM, network security groups, encryption, and monitoring
  • Design, implement, test, and deploy OCI-native controls such as Cloud Guard, Security Zones, Security Advisor, and Threat Intelligence
  • Develop encryption-at-rest key management for OCI storage, databases, and SaaS data, including rotation, versioning, and lifecycle governance
  • Connect OCI logs and events to the enterprise SIEM and refine integrations for effective threat detection
  • Automate security controls with Infrastructure as Code and contribute to technical standards spanning cloud and on-premises environments
  • Partner with system administrators, application teams, and project teams to build, operate, and secure cloud workloads
  • Manage OCI-native security controls that protect federal health customer environments
  • Contribute to cloud operations and migration activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • At least 6 years of experience in cloud security engineering, solutions engineering, enterprise architecture, or a related technical field
  • Advanced hands-on expertise with OCI security services and OCI IAM
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, preferably, OCI Resource Manager, or Ansible
  • Background integrating OCI logs and events with SIEM platforms such as Splunk, Elastic, or Microsoft Sentinel
  • Strong understanding of security considerations for compute, load balancing, WAF, API Gateway, and Functions
  • Clear communication skills for explaining complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to obtain and retain a federal Public Trust background investigation
  • Current OCI certification, such as OCI Security Professional or OCI Architect Professional, preferred
  • Active Public Trust clearance, preferred
  • Experience supporting federal government programs, particularly federal health initiatives, preferred
  • Familiarity with regulated environments and frameworks including FedRAMP, HIPAA, NIST 800-53, and CIS benchmarks, preferred
  • Experience securing Oracle Fusion Applications, preferred
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP alongside OCI, preferred
  • Preferred experience securing Kubernetes and OKE containers, including image scanning and operating-system remediation of vulnerability findings
