Mid-Level Python Engineer, FastAPI and AI Agents
Build asynchronous Python services and agentic AI applications for AXON Networks’ analytics platform, which supports real-time ISP network management. Work in a hybrid role based in Denmark.
Description
- Develop asynchronous Python services and APIs with FastAPI
- Structure software as modular, loosely coupled components with clear responsibilities
- Connect databases, APIs, and external services
- Create agentic applications with frameworks such as OpenAI Agents SDK or Pydantic AI
- Produce type-safe, tested, maintainable code
- Package services in Docker containers
- Review code written by people and AI tools
Requirements
- Strong command of Python and asyncio
- Practical experience with FastAPI and API design
- Knowledge of modular design, separation of concerns, and loose coupling
- Experience integrating databases and building connectors
- Proficiency with Python type annotations and static type checking
- Experience writing unit tests with pytest
- Familiarity with modern Python tools such as uv, ruff, mypy, or pyright
- Understanding of Docker and microservice fundamentals
- Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows
- Experience with an agent framework such as OpenAI Agents SDK, Pydantic AI, or LangGraph
- Understanding of tool calling, structured outputs, context management, guardrails, and evaluation
- Experience using AI-assisted coding tools
- Ability to evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, security, maintainability, and architectural fit
- PostgreSQL, Redis, or document database experience is a plus
- Familiarity with SQLAlchemy or asynchronous database drivers is a plus
