Join Kyndryl as a mid-level OpenShift platform administrator in a hybrid Hoofddorp role, managing secure Kubernetes and container infrastructure. You will automate operations, oversee platform lifecycle management, monitor performance, and strengthen security.

Description

  • Build, monitor, and maintain a stable, reliable, and secure OpenShift platform and its underlying IT infrastructure.
  • Administer and maintain Red Hat OpenShift environments to ensure availability, performance, and manageability.
  • Support projects and improvement initiatives involving container onboarding, platform development, and server and platform security.
  • Create manageable, standardized, and scalable environments while advancing platform management practices.
  • Support users, development teams, and application teams with incidents, technical issues, and security vulnerabilities.
  • Resolve incidents, outages, and technical changes through to permanent resolution.
  • Monitor the availability, performance, capacity, and stability of the OpenShift platform and its infrastructure.
  • Analyze issues, conduct root-cause investigations, and recommend lasting improvements.
  • Manage the platform lifecycle, including patching, upgrades, and version control.
  • Contribute to the architecture, networking, storage, and security of the OpenShift platform.
  • Implement and maintain security controls, including RBAC, security policies, certificates, and network segmentation.
  • Automate and standardize administrative tasks with Ansible, Bash, and other tools.
  • Collaborate with development, application, and IT infrastructure teams, providing occasional support for complex technical issues.
  • Help further develop and professionalize the OpenShift platform and its management processes.

Requirements

  • Higher professional education level, preferably with a completed ICT-related qualification.
  • Relevant experience in a comparable Linux, platform, or infrastructure administration role.
  • Technical knowledge of data center and infrastructure environments, including storage, networking, and virtualization.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and CoreOS.
  • Experience administering Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift environments.
  • Understanding of OpenShift and Kubernetes concepts, including Pods, Deployments, Services, Routes, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Operators, RBAC, and Persistent Volumes.
  • Experience with container technologies such as Podman, Docker, or other OCI-compliant solutions.
  • Experience with OpenShift lifecycle management, including patching, upgrades, version control, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience monitoring and analyzing availability, performance, and capacity across OpenShift and Linux environments.
  • Knowledge of OpenShift networking, storage, and security.
  • Experience with scripting and automation using tools such as Ansible, Bash, or Python.
  • A proactive approach to automating, standardizing, and simplifying administrative work.
  • Knowledge of ITIL 4 and an understanding of incident, change, and problem management.
  • Strong analytical abilities, independence, and a structured approach to resolving technical problems.
  • Willingness to continue developing expertise in OpenShift, Kubernetes, Linux, and container technologies.
  • RHCSA and/or RHCE certification.
  • Relevant Red Hat OpenShift certification is preferred, such as EX280.
  • Experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform is preferred.
  • Experience with OpenShift Operators and Operator Lifecycle Management (OLM) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of OpenShift security is preferred, including RBAC, Security Contexts, NetworkPolicies, Secrets, and certificate management.
  • Experience with OpenShift Storage, such as OpenShift Data Foundation (ODF), is preferred.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and the OpenShift logging stack is preferred.
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), such as Terraform, is preferred.
  • Agile/Scrum training and/or experience working in an Agile environment is preferred.
  • Experience administering OpenShift in a hybrid or cloud environment is preferred.
