Lead Software Engineer, Ecommerce Editor – Europe Remote

Lead the technical direction and delivery of ThriveCart’s AI-powered ecommerce editor. Guide Editor 2.0, production health, and AI features designed to improve merchant conversions.

Description

  • Lead technical direction for the ecommerce editor, covering AI generation, layout suggestions, content assistance, and personalization
  • Own Editor 2.0 sprint delivery, engineer unblocking, code review quality, and critical-path implementation
  • Plan sprints, decompose work, and prioritize tasks
  • Resolve technical blockers, unclear requirements, and cross-team dependencies for engineers
  • Make technical decisions and uphold code review standards
  • Act as the main escalation point for production incidents and editor reliability
  • Onboard and mentor team members, including effective use of AI tools
  • Propose and develop AI-powered features for visual page and funnel creation
  • Assess AI features against real workflows and conversion outcomes
  • Write unit and integration tests
  • Surface edge cases and risks during planning
  • Use AI coding tools daily and define effective AI-assisted development practices
  • Work directly with the product manager on roadmap planning and feature definition
  • Deliver meaningful production features and measure their conversion impact

Requirements

  • At least six years of professional software engineering experience
  • At least one to two years in a lead or de facto lead role
  • Experience owning a team’s technical direction beyond senior individual-contributor responsibilities
  • Hands-on experience in PHY
  • Hands-on experience building consumer-facing web products at scale
  • Experience with page builders, website or funnel editors, or similarly complex WYSIWYG and visual editing tools is strongly preferred
  • A demonstrated record of delivering AI-powered product features
  • Experience partnering directly with a product manager on roadmap and feature definition
  • Comfort serving as the primary escalation point for production issues
  • Experience with TypeScript and Node.js
  • Experience with PHP 7.4 or later and Laravel
  • Experience with MariaDB, Redis, AWS including EC2, RDS, CloudWatch, SQS, and S3, Docker, and GitHub Actions CI/CD
