Journeyman Electrician Candidate – Pascagoula, MS (Onsite)

Support marine electrical installation and repair for naval vessel construction at Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula. Work with cable, lighting, power, communications, and control systems in a shipboard manufacturing environment.

Description

  • Install and repair marine cable systems throughout ships
  • Help install and connect lighting fixtures, panels, receptacles, and electrical power equipment
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing instruments
  • Interpret drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and basic layout instructions
  • Work aboard ships at heights, in confined spaces, and in changing weather conditions
  • Meet production demands across multiple shifts in a 24/7 manufacturing operation
  • Apply Ingalls electrical safety standards throughout all work areas
  • Assist with power distribution, communications, lighting, and control systems for naval vessels

Requirements

  • Two years of experience installing electrical wiring, equipment, and hookups in commercial, industrial, or marine settings; alternatively, two years at an accredited college earning an electrical certificate or degree, or a combination of work experience and education totaling two years
  • Practical experience installing, repairing, or maintaining industrial electrical systems
  • Ability to interpret and use electrical drawings and schematics
  • Proficiency with standard electrical tools and testing equipment
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, quality craftsmanship, and collaboration
  • Readiness to work in an active industrial setting while continuing to build electrical trade expertise
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Availability for multiple shifts in a 24/7 manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and under varying weather conditions
