Intermediate Accountant - Houston, TX (Onsite)

Intermediate Accountant supporting fixed assets, capital projects, forecasting, and audits for TechnipFMC in Houston. The role partners with Finance, Operations, and Asset Management to maintain compliance.

Description

  • Maintain fixed asset system records for acquisitions, disposals, depreciation, amortization, and related journal entries
  • Review capital investment proposals and help Operations prepare them
  • Establish capital projects in the accounting system
  • Lead reviews of Construction in Progress balances
  • Ensure assets are capitalized promptly and accurately
  • Prepare capital expenditure and depreciation forecasts
  • Lead capital expenditure forecasting meetings with leadership
  • Complete month-end journal entries, project settlements, reconciliations, and balance sheet flux analysis
  • Prepare monthly accounting schedules and supporting analyses
  • Audit asset cycle-count programs and asset utilization reporting
  • Respond to internal and external fixed-asset audit requests
  • Support field inventory audits
  • Develop month-end asset reviews and related internal controls
  • Coordinate between Finance and the Asset Management Team
  • Identify process improvements and evaluate cost trends
  • Provide backup coverage for asset accountants in other business lines
  • Follow company policies, GAAP, and internal control requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • At least five years of related experience
  • Manufacturing experience is preferred
  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles, practices, and procedures
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills
  • Strong SAP experience
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organization and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and resolve complex issues with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prepare and present information
  • Strong communication skills when working with employees, managers, and senior leadership
