Insurance Accounting Specialist – London Hybrid
Support a Lloyd’s of London insurer with underwriting ledgers, reconciliations, bordereaux, and London Market reporting. Manage settlements, regulatory accounting activities, and related financial controls.
Description
- Maintain underwriting pool ledgers and complete associated reconciliations
- Prepare premium and claims bordereaux alongside quarterly reporting deliverables
- Post journals and reconcile transactions with policy administration systems and expenses
- Complete balance sheet and ledger reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies
- Process premium receipts and claims payments, examining variances with underwriting teams
- Manage multi-currency transactions and their reconciliations
- Oversee debt collection activities and reinsurer settlements
- Prepare and distribute statements to reinsuring pools
- Agree and settle bordereaux while addressing broker queries
- Provide support for external reviews and coverholder audits
- Continuously improve reporting solutions
- Help maintain effective relationships with third-party providers
Requirements
- Experience in insurance accounting within the Lloyd’s or London Market
- Strong background in underwriting or insurance accounting
- Practical experience with bordereaux, reconciliations, and multi-currency transactions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines
