Infrastructure Engineer, Nutanix Virtualized Infrastructure (Hybrid, Luxembourg)

Operate and improve Nutanix HCI, Kubernetes, and secure datacenter platforms for SES Satellites in Luxembourg. Support highly available infrastructure serving satellite communications, government, and NATO-related operations.

Description

  • Design, run, maintain, and enhance SES Satellites’ virtualized infrastructure
  • Administer and optimize Nutanix HCI environments, covering cluster health, capacity, upgrades, storage, networking, and virtual machines
  • Manage virtual workloads, templates, snapshots, migrations, provisioning, backup integration, and recovery processes
  • Support Windows and Linux servers, directory services, authentication, patching, hardening, monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Administer Windows datacenter services, including Microsoft Active Directory, domain controllers, and DNS
  • Configure infrastructure securely in line with enterprise policies, NATO and governmental project needs, and compliance requirements
  • Apply Infrastructure as Code, preferably with Terraform or similar tools, to provision, standardize, version, and maintain infrastructure resources
  • Automate declarative configuration management with Ansible or comparable tooling
  • Deploy, operate, upgrade, and support Kubernetes clusters and associated platform services
  • Take part in incident, problem, change, and configuration management through structured IT service management processes
  • Maintain high availability, disaster recovery, capacity planning, documentation, operational runbooks, and technical standards
  • Work with the Network Engineer on routers, switches, firewalls, VLANs, segmentation, connectivity, and infrastructure dependencies
  • Provide out-of-hours support for critical incidents, scheduled maintenance, or secure mission operations when required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, telecommunications, or equivalent professional experience
  • At least 3–5 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, virtualization, systems administration, or data center operations
  • Practical experience with Nutanix AHV, Prism Central, Prism Element, HCI operations, or comparable platforms such as VMware vSphere
  • Strong understanding of compute, storage, networking, backup and recovery, monitoring, automation, and infrastructure security
  • Background supporting highly available, security-sensitive, or mission-critical environments
  • Relevant certifications are preferred, including Nutanix NCA/NCP, VMware VCP, Microsoft, Linux, ITIL, or security certifications
  • Fluent written and spoken English is required
  • Eligible and willing to obtain and maintain NATO, EU, national governmental, or project-specific security clearance as needed
  • Willingness to work at least 60% onsite from the office
